My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a pair that consists of one grumpy old man and one fun-loving old man? Look no further!!

Jude is a 14-year-old, male, Pomerania mix, weighing approximately 25 pounds, and his brother Eli is a 12-year-old, male, bichon mix, weighing approximately 25 pounds. When their owner died, they found themselves at ACCT Philly. Since they lost their owner, we are hoping that they do not have to lose each other either and we plan to keep them together.

Jude is opinionated and will let you know if he doesn't like something. If you obey his wishes, he is happy. But good news, he can be bribed with treats! Jude needs time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he is a snuggler. Jude needs eye drops 4 times a day for dry eye. He will require this for his lifetime. He needs someone willing to put up with his attitude and snuggle him. He is a king.

Eli likes to play and run around; you would never guess his age! Then he likes to climb up on your lap and go to sleep so you'll have to include them both in snuggle time. He can be anxious if he needs to stay in his crate for too much of the day so someone who is home often is ideal.

Jude and Eli are the sweetest souls with the silliest of personalities, who are looking for a second chance. They will bring laughter to any home!

They are both crate-trained and housebroken. They walk nicely on a leash and enjoy walks. They are bigger fans of getting pets than playing with toys, and they will remind you if you have forgotten to pet them. Jude and Eli get along well with other dogs but would do best in a home without children.

Eli and Jude are the perfect pair and balance each other nicely. They are looking for an understanding home who is ready for all their personality!

Both dogs have a clean bill of heart, are neuter, microchipped and UTD on vaccines.

More about this rescue

Who We Are:
Zoe's House, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal welfare group based out of Sinking Spring,PA. We are comprised solely of volunteers that generously volunteer their time, their homes and their hearts. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected or abandoned animals from high kill shelters or from owners who can no longer care for them. We provide the animals with loving foster care, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation until we are able to pair them with compatible and loving forever homes. At times we also offer permanent sanctuary to those with special or medical needs and that are considered unadoptable.

Zoe's House serves as a resource to our community and to our adopters by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, behavior training, nutrition, puppy mill awareness, heartworm preventative and breed education. Our organization also networks with other shelters and rescues. We try to assist other organizations when possible.

Zoe’s House is not federally funded, and relies solely on donations to continue to rescue. Although we are not breed specific, the need to save Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Pitbulls is ever growing; therefore, we have focused primarily on saving the lives of our beloved and majestic strong breeds.

What We do:
There are many people involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of each dog we take in. Our rescue effort starts with the initial intake request for a dog. Whether this be at a shelter of from an individual in the community, we try to gather as much information as we can. We then pickup or transport the dog to safety in rescue. At this time we administer immediate veterinary care to determine the health of the dog and ensure the animal has proper immunizations. We also have bloodwork done for a heartworm check, lyme, fecal and sometimes a blood panel depending on the age and health of the dog. The dog remains in "in-home" foster care and becomes a part of the fosters family for an undefined period of time. We evaluate the dog and work on basic manners and obedience. At times we have dogs for a longer duration due to health and/or age. The dogs in our care come with us to adoption events, home screenings, and ultimately permanent placement. Zoe's House then provides post-adoption follow-up and support and welcomes the new family to the "Zoe's House Family!" We strive to stay in close contact with all of our adopters to ensure the transition and life long relationship continues to be magical. We remain dedicated to the principal that we never want one of our rescues to end up in a shelter or in a home that does not provide a responsible and loving environment for the life of the animal.

We truly believe that one dog at a time... we are making a difference!
