My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Apple Valley, MN

Hi there! My name is Onyx, and I’m looking for a home filled with love, treats, and plenty of snuggle time. I’m a loyal guy with a sweet soul, though I’m a bit of a "ladies' man" at heart!

I am a total sweetheart once I know I’m safe. I thrive around women and children. If you meet me, I’ll likely give you a polite sniff and then happily lean in for some pets. However, I’m a little more cautious when it comes to the guys. I tend to be shy or nervous around men; I might back away or give a bark to show I’m uncomfortable. I’m just looking for a family that understands I need a little extra time and patience to build trust with the fellas.

I am a gold-star house guest! I am fully potty trained and kennel trained, but I may need a little time to adjust when getting into a new home - You’ll show me the ropes, right? When I’m indoors, I mostly want to be where my favorite people are.

I love going for walks and exploring the neighborhood. We are still working on my leash training, but since I am extremely treat-motivated, I’m a very quick learner. If you have a tasty snack, I’m all ears!

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are a best guess.
