My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Donate Heart

Patience, praise and reassurance are key to earning 10-month-old Blair’s trust. Having spent most of her young life in a shelter, the 38-pound dappled gray beauty is slowly making up for lost time in her foster home. In fact, she smiles the sweetest, most appealing smile when she’s told that she’s a good girl! Always eager for attention, easygoing and calm, she loves snuggling and cuddling with her foster mom and resting her head on her. Known for running zoomies in the yard every morning, Blair also loves playing with her doggy foster friends, play bowing ever so prettily, but she especially enjoys playing chase and tug-o-war with her youngest doggy friend. Respectful and submissive, she’s been avidly following their lead, learning by example, and since she’s highly intelligent, she’s proven to be an A+ student. Agile and athletic, the more active she is, the happier she is, and that includes going for longer and longer walks, walking very well on leash, playing with toys and chewing on bones. Blair is turning out to be a snow dog. She loves anything and everything about snow. She'll eat it, lay in it, and dive for it!  Mainly motivated by love, she presently knows “come,” “down,” and “sit,” likes all treats, accepting them gently, naps with the other dogs when her fosters are gone, is at work on her puppy manners and is almost fully house-trained. Now as she continues life’s journey, Blair will bloom in a loving home, preferably with a securely fenced yard and/or another dog to patiently bolster her confidence, perfect her puppy manners, complete her training, including her commands, and keep her happily active fur-ever. See additional photos of Blair here.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).

If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.

The adoption fee for this pet is $425. Our adoption fee covers the following:

Spay/neuter

Microchip

DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption.

Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption.

Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process!

Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.

PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/

Our adoption process is:

1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet.

2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
