My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Serena, a brave blue Neapolitan Mastiff girl, who has just embarked on her journey to freedom! Serena's story is one of resilience, having been bred and then thrown away like trash, only to find herself as a stray on the streets and eventually in the care of a Southern California shelter.

Serena has a baseball-sized mass on her neck, a painful reminder of her tumultuous past, identified as a swollen lymph node by the shelter's vet. She has what appear to be bite marks all over the left side of her face and head, so it could possibly be a really bad infection, but we just don’t know yet. While she has been on antibiotics, Serena urgently needs further medical examination to determine what exactly the mass is, and accordingly, determine the best course of action. She also has a respiratory infection, needs to be spayed, and possibly needs eye surgery.

Despite being in pain and repeatedly failed by humans, Serena has been surprisingly pleasant and agreeable. So far, she has shown a pleasant disposition.

While she is not yet medically cleared for adoption, please do apply to foster-to-adopt Serena if you're interested! This girl is going to make someone an amazing wrinkly companion once her medical issues are resolved. Please apply here: https://www.mastino-rescue-inc.org/familyprofile
