My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hawk!

This two-year-old aussie/kelpie mix is ready to say so long to the kennel and begin his new life! He's a 53-pound bashful boy who is looking for a family who he can trust and make happy memories with for years to come.

Hawk is a bit reluctant when you first meet him, but with some time and patience, he shows he affectionate side, leaning in for some hugs. He wants so much to trust the people around him and we know the bond he forms with his family will be a strong one.

Hawk is a smart fella and will sit nicely for his treats. He even had a chance to work with a volunteer on clicker training and did very well! He will benefit from continued training, daily exercise, and reassurance from his new family. We'd love for Hawk to have a fenced-in yard where he can feel safe and explore till his heart is content. We have no doubt with love and dedication, he'll continue to gain confidence and be a fabulous family pup!

Based on our evaluation, we feel Hawk will do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. He may have the ability to live in a home with other animals. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby.

Let's show Hawk just how wonderful life can be in a loving family. Visit greatlakesdogrescue.com to submit an application for our handsome Hawk!
