The names Shira! I'm a gentle soul who enjoys the small things in life. Honestly, I'd love nothing more than to sit calmly next to you contentedly for a movie night at home. I appreciate people who respect my space and I'll seek out affection from people once I get a chance to know them.

Once I'm comfortable in my new home, I will need some time learning to walk on a leash. I'll be able to learn this new skill with a patent handler who understands what it's like having a bit of trepidation when navigating new spaces. With patents and a little TLC, I can blossom into my new role as a loving member of your family.

If you are interested in meeting me, Come on in! We are open 12noon-6pm every day.

Animals are available by walk-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are also available for select animals. Check each animals' bio for more information.

To adopt a pet from the SPCA of Texas, we not only help make love connections, but we then walk you through an adoption process that is geared to ensuring you and the pet are a great match. There is a contract to sign at the end of the process. Adoption fees are as follows:

Puppies 0-6 months: $150
Adult dogs 6 months or older: $75

The adoption fee includes age-appropriate vaccinations (which can include Rabies, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza and Bordetella), spay/neuter surgery, deworming treatment, initial heartworm preventative, a rabies tag, Free health examination within fourteen days of the adoption thanks to our partnership with VCA Animal Hospitals, a leash and a microchip. Dogs over 6 months of age are also given a heartworm test (SNAP occult). Free week of training through Good Pup.

Also included is a free week of training through Good Pup.

The SPCA of Texas is the leading animal welfare organization in North Texas.
