Meet Sammi!

Sammi is a young shepherd mix who spent 6 months at a southern CA shelter with no adoption interest. Sammi was a rockstar at the shelter and was regularly used to test the temperment and sociability of other dogs entering the shelter. We knew Sammi would make a wonderful family dog and planned to get her up to Oregon. Once Sammi was safe and in a foster home down in CA, awaiting transport to OR she began having seizures. After spending a few days at an emergency clinic with round the clock care and numerous diagnostics done, no root cause of her sudden seizure onset was determined. Fortunately her seizures were under control with medication and she was healthy and could travel to Oregon. Since arriving in Oregon, Sammi has settled in wonderfully. She is so sweet and so smart! She loves other dogs and is ready to befriend and play with everyone. Sammi enjoys training and has started working with a trainer on her basic obedience. She has not had any seizures and we are actively working with our veterinary team on the best course of treatment for her. It is unknown at this time if Sammi will require seizure medication long term. But if she does she seems to be easily managed and takes medication great!
