My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Phoebe is the mom to a litter of kittens that were adopted last year. Before we could trap her in the fall to spay her, she disappeared for a while and eventually returned. We recently spayed her and she is now available for adoption!

Although Phoebe lived outdoors, she has grown fond of her caretakers and now lives indoors. She loves to be pet, and will excitedly flop down and demands pets when her food bowl is placed down, before eating. She also loves to be pet while she eats! She loves to play with toys, and has a sweet and rumbly purr.

Phoebe would be best in a home without other dogs, as she is NOT a fan of the dog in her foster home. It's important to remember that her Phoebe lived outdoors, so it may take a while to earn her trust, but she has proven it can absolutely be done and she will likely be a lap cat one day!

Phoebe is spayed, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped

Additional adoption info

All of our dogs and cats are fully vetted prior to adoption - spayed/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated and tested for heartworm (dogs) or FIV/FeLV (cats).

To adopt an animal from us, you will be required to complete an adoption application. When your completed application is returned to us, we will conduct a criminal background check, verify home ownership or landlord permission, check with any veterinary references and conduct a home check. Then pay adoption fee.

Please note that our adoption contract for cats has a NO DECLAW clause.

More about this rescue

We are a small non-profit rescue focused on the 4.77 square mile town of Speedway, Indiana, home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our goal is to make Speedway a no-kill town where every animal is spayed/neutered, microchipped and properly cared for. We rescue all animals taken to the town's Animal Control facility. We assist owners in need with veterinary care and food/supplies. We help trap-neuter-release feral cat colonies and socialize/adopt kittens under 3 months old.

Due to limited resources, we are unable to accept animals from outside the town's boundaries at this time.
