My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bear’s mom wandered up to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere on 12/8 and gave birth to him and 7 siblings on 12/9. His mom was sadly dumped there. Blessedly, the owners kept his mom and all babies safe in their garage through the small Winter Storm. He is a gorgeous, healthy boy who is timid at first but quickly opens up. He likes to play with his puppy foster mates, wrestle, chew toys, and snacks. His new favorite thing is water so a play pool or yard pool will be a bonus. He is being raised with dogs of all sizes and a cat. Bear has the sweetest temperament and is the cutest lovable furball! He is potty mat trained and quickly learning to go outside. He is learning sit and other puppy manners. You truly don't want to miss out on this best friend forever especially for a youngster. Bear will the bestest, most loyal companion. Set up a meet and greet soon!

Cody's adopts dogs in the greater DFW area and does not adopt puppies under the age of 6 months into apartment homes.

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
