My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ellie is a very sweet and playful 2-year-old Dobergirl. She came to DRNV by way of the overflowing shelter. She is a goofy red girl who is submissive and loves to give kisses. As she is turning into an adult, she also experienced what can come at maturity – epilepsy. Her first seizures were very minor but came on suddenly as happens with this affliction in Dobermans. And happily, just as quicky then stopped with use of a daily inexpensive medicine. The vet expects a complete and happy life for her with those medications. But also an understanding of the potential for an occasional “breakthrough” seizure that is mostly an inconvenience. Ellie knows manners and is ready to move in. If you have a special place in your heart for a special loving lady who will spoil you as much as you do her, well, just look at that face.

More about this rescue

Doberman Rescue of Nevada is dedicated to saving the lives of Doberman Pinschers in need. Headquartered in Las Vegas, we work with individuals and humane organizations to rescue and place Doberman Pinschers into appropriate loving homes. While we love all dogs, our mission is the Doberman Pinscher and its welfare. We work to save Dobermans one at a time. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and available for adoption for a nominal fee. Our volunteers include some of the most experienced Doberman rescuers in the country as well as those who are new to the effort. What we all share is a passion, love and dedication to the Doberman. Our leaders and volunteers are also involved in activities of the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, Special Needs Dobermans and the Senior Doberman Project. While this organization is new, over the years our volunteers have helped rescue and place hundreds of our chosen breed of beloved dogs. Dobermans are bright, loving, playful dogs that are often described as a "Velcro" breed because of their habit of literally leaning on and wanting to touch their humans.
