My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Fletcher was brought in by a community member on 4/1/2024 as a stray.

At SDHS:
Fletcher has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Fletcher! After he warms up and gets to know you, he will lean in for petting. He's a friendly dog who likes people. He doesn't much like being restrained for medical procedures, and he is definitely not a fan of wearing an e-collar. But if no one is trying to treat him medically or force him into a cone, he's a friendly and fun dog. If you would like to meet Fletcher, grab a leash and collar and head to our Escondido Campus.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
