My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is one handsome, lucky boy. He was featured as one of our dogs that were CDV-exposed and needed a hero (or heroine!) to get him out of the shelter ASAP. As fate would have it, one came through for him, so General (#MASA35415) is now enjoying the comforts of a foster home.

His foster parent reports that General is super friendly, gets along great with other dogs, and walks beautifully on a leash. He's an absolute sweetheart who will melt your heart with his charm. His foster parent also reports that he has NOT shown any symptoms of distemper.

When he was still in the shelter, he was one of our Playgroup Rock Stars! He was friendly, social, and had a playful personality. That probably shines through in his photos.

Meet General, a friendly, heartworm-negative boy who loves to have fun! General went on a foster field trip over the weekend, and here's what his chaperone reported:

"General is an affectionate and energetic dog with a heart of gold! He has a zest for life and absolutely loves playing outside, especially with kids. His high energy makes him the perfect companion for active families. After a good run to get his zoomies out, he enjoys cuddling on the couch.

General did well during bath time-he made a couple of attempts to escape, but nothing too serious. He's gentle when taking treats and always appreciates a good belly rub. You won't have to worry about potty training; he has that down pat. General is also a fantastic passenger during car rides. He loves sticking his head out of the window and, after a bit, will settle down for a nap.

While General has a lot of positives, he does have a couple of areas that need work: jumping and leash training. He's a strong dog and tends to jump when he's excited, so supervision around small children is recommended. During walks, he might alternate between sprinting, jumping, and lying down, showing a bit of stubbornness if you're not heading where he wants to go.

Despite these quirks, General is a sweet dog who just needs some training to become the perfect family pet. He's gentle with kids when in calm environments and has a lot of love to give. If you're looking for a dog with boundless energy and a loving personality, General might be your perfect match. Give him a little training, and you'll have a loyal companion for life."

General attended playgroup on 4/17/24. He was friendly and social, and he had high energy!

General is a transport candidate for an upcoming transport up north, which means we'd love to find him a short-term foster!
