My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cricket is a special cat for a special guy. Formerly feral from Talking Waters Garden in Albany, OR, he has adapted well over time to living indoors with adults, no kids. Please allow a few weeks for him to get comfortable with you and then he's a love sponge.

Cricket does not play well with others, and must be a solitary cat. He is extremely loving and attached to his hoomans, especially males. He will rub and rub against your leg in anticipation of his morning wet food breakfast. During the day he enjoys sitting by the window or sliding glass door with fresh air so he can watch the birds and squirrels in the backyard. He frequently chirps at the critters outside in excitement as his favorite pastime is watching nature. He would thrive with windows and sliding door views or even a catio. His intelligence also shows during evening cozy times when he jumps up when called for our regular lap time petting.

Cricket loves being the center of attention, and is very playful. He loves feather toys, and mouse toys and will rarely turn you down if you want to play. He enjoys rubbing under his chin, scratches around his collar, neck, and back and even being rubbed on the side of his belly when he's relaxed. He does know stranger danger, so he is hesitant about guests in the home and will hide from people he is not familiar with. He usually doesn't sleep on the bed, but he likes to be around and will sleep in the bedroom in his cave or cat bed or sometimes just retire to another room for some privacy. He always uses his scratching post and cat tree. He is a sweetheart who is just too jealous of other cats because he wants all your attention and love.

He is healthy and active young adult, who always uses his litterbox and doesn't need any medications. He was fixed as a kitten and had his last vaccines in October 2023 and therefore his Rabies is good for 3 years. Flea treated monthly and was dewormed a few times when first brought inside. Also tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids when he was fixed at 4 months. All medical records will accompany him and he will be delivered to your home. Asking a donation of $100 for his adoption fee.

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
