Meet Ruche, our 1-year-old wonder with a gorgeous black coat that shines as bright as his personality! Weighing in at a spry 25 lbs, this young boy was rescued from a shelter in Jeolla-do and has been exploring NYC with bright eyes and a big heart ever since.
Ruche is a curious soul who loves to take his time on walks, where he enjoys sniffing around and retracing his steps - every tree and post has a story to tell! He’s got an adorable habit of people watching from the window, getting lost in the hustle and bustle of the world outside for hours.
Despite his cautious nature around loud noises and busy streets, Ruche is remarkably well-adjusted. He navigates stairs with ease and has mastered the art of the gentle belly rub session. He’s especially fond of his quiet moments, often opting to relax in his crate with his favorite toys and snacks. Ruche’s gentle spirit shines through when he offers kisses and cuddles, showing his affection to those he trusts. We rescue dogs from the Korean dog meat trade. We work in partnership with local and regional Korean dog rescues and high kill shelters. Many of our dogs come from the brutal dog meat trade and also puppy mill survivors. None of these dogs will get adopted in their homeland.
We work to end the dog meat trade in Korea where over 2.5 million dogs a year are tortured and slaughtered for consumption because of the belief that tortured dog meat gives medicinal benefits. We stand with the Korean animal activists and rescuers in Korea. A portion of the adoption fee goes back to these groups in Korea.
