My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lola is a Pitbull Terrier, estimated to be 5-6 years old and weighs around 50 lbs. Lola was saved from euthanasia in a Louisiana shelter where she was repeatedly abused by a (male) shelter worker, so unsurprisingly she was afraid of people and slow to trust new people and had turned into a fear biter. Since then she’s come a long way and has learned to trust again; she loves meeting new people, going to restaurants and coffee shops and even more so the beach. Nevertheless, because of her history, we prefer Lola finding an experienced furever home that understands that she prefers meeting new people slowly. Besides that, Lola is the absolute cutest love bug, loves to be cuddled and handled, picked up and rolled around, kissed and spoilt. She listens really well and loves to follow me around like the faithful and loyal girl she is. She does love tracking scents and is energetic, so she will need an active human who will take her hiking or running. And really she’d LOVE to live by the beach (a lake will do too, she says). If she could choose the perfect person it would be a surfer 🤩
At home she is excellent. She loves sleeping in her crate at night but would not mind sleeping in your bed and loves a comfy sofa. She is great with cats (but needs introduction) has learnt to be good around chickens and ducks, goats, donkeys and horses.
We do not recommend Lola around small(er) children especially when they are noisy, as screaming or shrill sounds seems to be a trigger for her

Additional adoption info

We want to make sure that the pet and new family are the right fit to avoid the animal being surrendered again or getting passed on. To ensure this we ask questions on lifestyle (if adopter is very active or not), how much they are home, what other animals are in the home/on the property etc. We want to both the animal as well as the adopter be set up for success which is that both sides are happy and their needs are met.
