My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

joined in May 2021, he was “too much horse” and would have ended up in the slaughter pipeline. He’s had some issues with trusting humans and getting his hooves done but has made a lot of progress since a young Amish farrier has been working on him. Until about late last fall he would still mostly avoid me and not let me touch him, catching him for the farrier was quite the feat but over the past few months with some Animal Reiki sessions he’s finally started to let go, his eyes have grown softer, we can touch him without him running off and on good days he’ll let us grab his halter like it was the most normal thing for him. Johnny is a gorgeous and proud boy and the Man Boss in the herd. He’s in his late teens and fully sound. Although he’s not a youngster, he would look absolutely stunning under saddle with an experienced rider.

Additional adoption info

we want to make sure that the pet and new family are the right fit to avoid the animal being surrendered again or getting passed on. To ensure this we ask questions on lifestyle (if adopter is very active or not), how much they are home, what other animals are in the home/on the property etc. We want to both the animal as well as the adopter be set up for success which is that both sides are happy and their needs are met.
