Wally is a 6 year old, 65lbish, Goldendoodle who is being rehomed as his person moved out of the country and said they could not take Wally with them.
Newest update from Wally's foster family 12-15:
"Wally is a delight! Wally has settled in well during his time here. He knows all of his basic commands, although he has a little trouble with recall when he is distracted (by anything!). I don’t think he has an aggressive bone in his body, he loves to be brushed, stands still when getting his paws wiped and loves to have his face rubbed with a towel! One thing we have learned is he has to go to a home with NO CATS! He is completely housebroken and has free run of the house, when I’m home and away. He loves his walks, and has learned to love running free in the fenced yard, and has even become friendly with the horses through the fence. He will still bark at strangers when leash-walking, but a stop and sniff and he is good. We are still unsure of dogs. Being around more people will be our next phase of socializing. I think best for no young/small children in the home due to his not knowing his size only having some manners, and being the only dog as he likes to be the center of attention.
He likes to sleep in the bed at night and needs plenty of exercise. Wally has been a very spoiled dog and he loves attention and following his people around! He had not been exposed to a lot of new people or other animals until he came to GRRAND and his foster family is working on that".
Wally could use some socialization and some training as he has not had much in his past, so his new family will need to be committed to working with him and having the time to fulfill his activity needs.
As we learn more about Wally, we will update, but if you would like to meet him, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
