My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tulip is a 2 year old, about 70lb Goldendoodle that is very bonded with Tulip, so they will be placed as a pair. They were rescued from an Amish breeder/puppy mill, that was going to have the dogs euthanized if they did not go to rescue. They were very fearful of people and have come so far with the GRRAND volunteers who have been working with them everyday! They have a list of things their prospective new people must have and must understand before applying:

They absolutely MUST go to a home with a securely above ground fenced yard

They are a bonded pair and will be placed together

Their new family must be an adult only household that commits 100% to giving these girls plenty of time and have plenty of patience, while they transition from the kennel to a home… this will be a HUGE adjustment for all

They need people who can help build their confidence as the girls learn to trust

They are looking for a special foster or forever home with a family experienced in the socialization needs of puppy mill dogs, and who are home more often than the average working people

They are such sweet, pretty and deserving girls who have yet to know what it is like to live the “GOOD LIFE” of a well loved and cared for pampered pooch who sleeps in a soft cozy bed and has people who love and adore them the way they should be! This is their time, and if you are that “special someone” who would like to give these girls their “GOOD LIFE”, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org to meet Poppy and Tulip

More about this rescue

Early in 1994, members of the Greater Louisville Golden Retriever Club began to see the need for an organization to rehabilitate and find homes for displaced and abused Golden Retrievers. A number of folks in this club began organizing an ad hoc rescue group. As the number of rescues increased over a period of months, this “wet behind the ears” group came up with a name and in 1996, incorporated the organization now known as Golden Retriever Rescue & Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND). The rest, as they say, is history!
