My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stormy is a handsome boy full of energy, athleticism, and adorable vocalizations. This healthy young man has regained his confidence after quarantining himself under the bed for the first couple days in his foster home and now resides on the very friendly end of the cat scale. When he’s not doing flips for the string toy or batting a ball around the circle, he enjoys watching the neighborhood dogs and birds go by the window and basking in the sun. A bit jumpy, often coy, but nevertheless wanting your attention, he is in many ways a prototypical cat. He may shy away from sudden movements or your foot path; rest assured he isn’t going far and, if you don’t follow him, he will probably come back to you in short order. When you don’t see him, he is most likely somewhere nearby.

A big appetite, Stormy will relentlessly partake in his foster sister’s (Sugar’s) food bowl until he is placed in a separate room. The same can be said for the food on your own plate. He has a stronger urge to rough house than his foster sister but has demonstrated the self-control to back off when she cowers and yields, suggesting he gets along with others well enough to co-exist. They have also been found sharing a cardboard box or bathing together.

Stormy is an easy-to-purr, engaging young lad and will let you easily pick him up and pet him. While he hasn’t proven to be a lap cat or constant cuddle-bug, he does like hanging out and values your affection. Regular stimulation is important for him, and he will voice his opinion if he isn’t getting enough activity (or food).

Although onery at times, Stormy has not damaged any possessions and typically nips it in the bud when spoken sternly to, so long as you’re not getting between him and food. He is an ideal cat for an owner who is willing to regularly interact and is comfortable caring for a cat who likes to be within reach, but not smothered (like his sister Sugar prefers!).

Stormy was born approximately March 20, 2022, and his adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweetheart at our adoption center this weekend!
