My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Alvin is ready for adoption!
He’s one year old and about 40#.
Alvin is very, very social. He loooooves attention and lives for it. From dogs and humans. He’s a very gentle boy. House trained, practicing to make perfect leash walking, he is killing it and doing better every day.
Alvin and his brother came to us knowing how to survive by depending on each other. Alvin is the leader but not by being alpha. He’s brave and curious. Happy, gentle approach. Belly up and lots of kisses.
Alvin is very, very playful. He is gentle and happy about love and life. We would love him to be with other dogs, not a deal breaker with an active and interactive lifestyle. If there is room for two we would entertain the brothers going together with specifics of a very large fenced in yard/property.
Alvin is a wonderful companion!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Applications must be submitted in order to arrange a meet and greet with the dogs unless the interested family goes to an adopt event.

2.

Approve Application

Vets will be called to verify vetting. That is a MUST if there have been previous animals in the home.

3.

Meet the Pet

Meet the dog you've inquired to adopt, we try not to make families wait.

4.

Take the Pet Home

We finalize everything ASAP so you can take your new dog home and be a family!

Additional adoption info

We charge very small fees for our adoptions. The fees are based on the age and life expectancy of the dog. They range from $100-250. Each dog comes altered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, with heartguard and flea/tick prevention of our choosing.
We require an application and conversation. We will do a home visit to make sure the home is appropriate and safe for our dog. We will check vet and personal references.
We request a signed document that the dog be returned to the rescue and not taken to a shelter should it not be a fit later on after the adoption.

Go meet their pets

We do events at Petsmart in Sunset Hills. We have our dogs out and about the first and third Saturdays of each month. The interested Families may, also, meet the dog(s) at any schedule, convenient time coordinated with all parties.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla. I am the founder of the organization, opened July 3, 2015. Our focus is the senior dogs of Missouri. We never want a frosted face to end up in a shelter or be there when they can be loved and cared for.
I was a geriatric nurse for several years and converted my love for the senior people to the senior dogs. They come first, they've given their lives to those that chose them. It is our duty to give them the best that they deserve. We get them to optimum health and adoptable for a family to love them in their golden years.
November 2017 we added a puppy division. Our puppy division works hard to make sure the puppies get out of the shelters immediately so they do not get sick and can be cared for until adopted. their innocence and pure curiosity bring a ray of sunshine to our rescue.
All of our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and healthy.
