My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster hoomans said to warn you that once you meet me, you will never want to let me go! I am a sweet, gentle, super-soft kitty that loves pets and scritches on my head, and am happy to wait patiently and stare at you until you give them to me! My expert biscuit making/kneading skills will dazzle you and I will be your best napping buddy. l will also entertain you by chasing my own tail around in circles as well as any dangling toys that come my way!

You might think I’m shy when we first meet but I’ll be coming out to beg for pets in no time. I’ll always stay close by wherever you are and when you’re not around, I’ll be watching the birds out the window or cozying up in my favorite pet bed.

I would love to have other laid-back cat siblings, or I could be your one-and-only if you promise to pet me lots and play with me each day!

Likes: Soft pats/scratches on my head, Churu and similar squeezy tube treats
Dislikes: Loud noises, too much noise
Favorite Toy: Furry little mouse toys and shiny toys on strings
Favorite Napping Spot: Wherever you are, or in my favorite pet bed!
Best features: My foster hoomans love my sweet and gentle disposition, my skinny tail, and colorful toe beans!

My Profile:
Age: 1 year
Good with kids: good with kids 14 years and older.
Good with dogs: unsure
Good with other cats: Yes
Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes
Activity level: active and enjoy interactive play

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptions begin with a visit to one of our adoption events. The adoption coordinator and/or the pet's foster parent will review the applications received. The applicant (if any) whose responses best fit the needs of the particular pet will generally be contacted within a week to schedule a home visit. A vet check and personal reference is also required prior to visiting your home. Our non-refundable adoption fee is $250 for dogs, $85 for kittens ($150 for a pair of kittens), and $75 for an adult cat. The fee covers spay/neuter, core vaccines (distemper and rabies), deworming, microchipping, and the general care of the animals. Per our contract, if you cannot keep your adopted pet for any reason, it must be returned to our program. We will try to find it a new home.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We don't have a central shelter facility, so the best place to meet our adoptable cats and dogs is at our adoption shows! If you have previously filled out an application, please bring it with you to the show! Please e-mail with any questions. We cannot guarantee that an animal you want to meet will be at the show. Please check www.pgspca.org -> adopt -> adoption_show_attendees the day before the show and we will do our best to let you know if he/she will be there!

We hold two adoption events each month, on Saturdays from 12 noon to 2 pm.

More about this rescue

The PGSPCA is a nonprofit organization of volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. We are chartered by the State of Maryland, but we receive no state or county funds. Our activities are supported solely by contributions, dues and fundraising events.

We have three main objectives:

• To reduce the number of unwanted litters of dogs and cats through our progressive spay/neuter program – We have altered more than 20,000 animals over the past five years, many of them at no charge;

• To prevent cruelty to animals and all animal suffering through humane education, neglect and cruelty investigations, protective legal action, and an active dog and cat adoption program – We receive about 1,000 calls a month for cruelty investigations, spay and neuter assistance and adoption requests;

• To protect all animals against suffering and abuse through education on legislation affecting the protection of all animals – We regularly educate the public and provide testimony about animal welfare to county and state legislators.
