My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

So what does a 15 lb dog with Bassett feet, chihuahua head, and dachshund body look like you ask? Well, meet Abby. What breed is she? Who knows. And those Heinz 57 type dogs are the best. How old is she? Don’t know. Somewhere between puppy and senior. She gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t give a cat a second glance. How does she do in a crate? Don’t know because she doesn’t need one. She is house trained and wants to share your bed. She has yet to bark and really just wants someone to love on her and to give her a forever home. She is being fostered in Spring Hill.

Abby is a 6 year old, 18 lb chiweenie. She is looking for her forever home or foster. She has been with us for a couple of weeks as a foster and the first week of May we will be traveling again for our jobs and will no longer be able to foster her. Abby is perfection. She loves the company of other dogs and is cat-curious. She is fine to sleep on a blanket next to your bed at night and is fully house trained. Abby is medium energy and loves her fenced backyard to play ball. She loves to play and loves to nap. That’s my kind of fur-friend. In 2 weeks, without a foster or adopter, she will need to go back to boarding which makes her so scared. Let’s get her to a good home before that happens. You are welcome to come visit Abby and see all this wonderful pup has to offer.

Posting for Abby…

Poor Abbey has lost both her parents. She has no one to love and take care of her anymore. She is so confused and frightened in boarding and need to be in a quite and settled home like she had before. Please help her find her new family soon.

More about this rescue

Russell Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization. It was started in 2008 by Mary Ruth Rogers of Columbia, TN. Our mission is to save and re-home unloved, abandoned and abused dogs, especially the Jack Russell terrier. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Tennessee, and other nearby states.
