My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sparky, the charming 3-year-old, 8-pound terrier mix with a heart of gold and a world of love to give. Despite his initial nervousness, this little guy is a loyal companion who will stick to you like glue once he knows you're a friend, and he's not shy about showing his affection.

Sparky's favorite pastimes include belly rubs, snuggling, and giving out sweet kisses. He's a true cuddle bug who thrives on human affection and companionship, making him the perfect furry best friend for those seeking a loyal and devoted companion.

With a knack for crate training, Sparky is a model of good behavior. Rarely one to make a mess in his crate or cause a ruckus, he's a quiet and well-mannered pup who knows how to respect his living space.

In his foster home, Sparky shares space with dogs of both genders, although he tends to gravitate towards furry friends closer to his own size. While he loves to snooze with his furry foster siblings, curling up peacefully right next to them, he hasn't yet shown much interest in playing with them yet.

Though he hasn't quite discovered the joys of toys and bones just yet, Sparky's foster family believes that with time and patience, he'll gain the confidence to explore these new experiences at his own pace.

Currently in the process of mastering potty training, Sparky is making strides both indoors and outdoors. While he's comfortable using pads indoors, he's slowly but surely learning the ropes of going outside, a testament to his willingness to learn and adapt.

When it comes to the great outdoors, Sparky is still getting used to the idea of leash walking and may need some extra patience and encouragement to feel comfortable. Ideally, he would thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can explore and play freely, or with someone willing to invest the time and effort into helping him build confidence on the leash.

In summary, Sparky is a gentle soul with a heart of gold, ready to shower his forever family with endless love and affection. With his unwavering loyalty and sweet nature, he's sure to bring warmth and joy to the hearts of those lucky enough to call him their own.

Sparky is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
