Meet Billy Jean 6919
The photographer considers himself to be somewhat schooled in recognizing the status and descriptives of the canines, but there was an occasion where he was wholly surprised when confronted with a thankful reality. Every day after the shelter closes, he walks the corridors and says a kind hi to the residents and shares a healthy, delectable treat with all. In these cursory visits he had underestimated the potential and overestimated the age of a quiet, peaceful canine who has become known as Billy Jean. It took only two minutes into the bark park session before the human was reeducated by a spritely, spirited, joy filled Billy Jean. She is a perfect example of a Billy Hound genetic replete with long ears, muscular legs and a smooth, short tan/white fur decorated with orange and white spots. 4-year-old Billy Jean is a bubbly, buoyant, and bouncy canine blessed with a smile repertoire that ranges from “down home” to “I’m your best forever friend” to an impish grin that brings a “I don’t know why but I just have to give you a hug” feeling. She walks easily on leash, takes treats gently and just wants to be close to you. Billy Jean is filled with cheerful energies and an amazing desire to please. She was a little bit shy, but she felt it was ok to tell you that she has a canine crush on the handsome next door kennel Husky, who, when you meet him, you will appreciate why.

Our adoption fee is $70 which covers all the basic shots and worming medications appropriate for the age of the animal as well as the required spaying or neutering. If the animal is too young to be neutered, a voucher is presented to the adopter to cover the process at a participating vet. Rabies shots are not included. We have an application process in which we ask basic questions to insure that you and the chosen pet are a good match for each other. We do require a vet reference. If you have been arrested and convicted of animal abuse or neglect, you will not be considered for adoption. If you do not own your home, a letter from the landlord giving permission to have a pet is required. Local ordinances regarding maximum numbers of pets shall be observed. All other household pets must be spayed or neutered. All pets are adopted "as is." Should the pet not work out after you take it home, we ask that you return the animal to us for re-homing. We want each animal to find a loving forever home and reserve the right to refuse any application should the individual needs of the chosen animal not be in that dog's best interest. Contact our office for inquiries and applications.
