Meet Hansel 6924
It isn’t often that you are fortunate enough to encounter an outstandingly gentle, easy-going canine whose stature is guaranteed to give pause to any uninvited diminutive of thought person dumb enough to consider joining him in your backyard. Although Hansel would probably go up to the human for a hug or a rump rub, the “guest” would be long gone. On his way to the bark park, Hansel moved through the shelter with total indifference to the “serenade” of barks and complaints of the dogs who were wishing that they were the fortunate ones. Once there, 2-year-old Hansel stood waiting with amazing patience for the human to reach around and fasten the full-sized bandana, which barely fit the circumference of his Rottweiler neck. Hansel gazed up with a big-sized smile through the entire process as though he was vicariously enjoying the human’s difficulty in the “do you really think that’s going to fit?” stretching adventure. Hansel is an always happy, charming canine who walks nicely on leash and takes treats with an almost imperceptible touch. He performs an instant sit on request and showed only a passing interest in a Teddy Bear who was navigating a close fly by. While walking the first time past the kennel of Hansel and his sibling Gretel, the human was amazed at their calm demeanor and their loving camaraderie as they both accepted a hot dog treat with respect and dignity. Come on down to the Humane Society for Animals in Rogers, AR and meet Hansel and Gretel, two of the most amazing Rottweilers that we have ever known.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $70 which covers all the basic shots and worming medications appropriate for the age of the animal as well as the required spaying or neutering. If the animal is too young to be neutered, a voucher is presented to the adopter to cover the process at a participating vet. Rabies shots are not included. We have an application process in which we ask basic questions to insure that you and the chosen pet are a good match for each other. We do require a vet reference. If you have been arrested and convicted of animal abuse or neglect, you will not be considered for adoption. If you do not own your home, a letter from the landlord giving permission to have a pet is required. Local ordinances regarding maximum numbers of pets shall be observed. All other household pets must be spayed or neutered. All pets are adopted "as is." Should the pet not work out after you take it home, we ask that you return the animal to us for re-homing. We want each animal to find a loving forever home and reserve the right to refuse any application should the individual needs of the chosen animal not be in that dog's best interest. Contact our office for inquiries and applications.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society for Animals is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides for the welfare of dogs and cats in Benton County through shelter and adoption services, spaying and neutering vouchers, and humane education.
The Humane Society for Animals has held over 90,000 animals since it originally opened in 1972. Our facility at 1st and Nursery Rd. was built in 1980 and continuously houses a total of around 85 dogs and 20 cats. Most of our cats and dogs are strays that have been dumped or abandoned. Others come from local animal control agencies and from people who can no longer care for them, that live in the county. We offer the public numerous opportunities either to donate or get involved. Please contact us to see how you can help.
