My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Huck is a 4yr old black and white BC/Great Pyrenees mix, a gentle giant. He came into rescue a bit overweight, at 80 lbs. His foster mom is working on more exercise, activity, and less food, to get him to a healthier weight of about 60-65 lb.

Huck was previously adopted and lived on a farm. He was returned to rescue due to an altercation with another family member’s dog.

Huck is currently being fostered in a farm, and absolutely loves the farm life, especially being outdoors!! He loves to explore, on foot, ride in the gator, wade in the pond, and just go on any adventure with his human. He is alert and mindful of his surroundings, and property (the Pyrenees in him)! Huck is a dream to walk on a loose leash, off leash he stays right by your side your side. He may do well in a suburban neighborhood with a large yard, and plenty of time to hike or take walks. Huck has great recall..

Huck knows sit, High 5, and will spin for a treat. He is easily motivated with food and willing to learn other commands. He doesn’t jump up or play rough, he is simply a gentle boy. He wants to be close to his person content to lay at your feet, by your chair, or out exploring. He will remind you that he is present with a nudge for pets, or attention, his eyes will melt your heart. He just wants the love and attention from his person. He is housebroken, and crate trained. He loves all humans large and small. He would do well with an older person, or someone home a lot, as he is lower energy. He will require exercise to keep him fit and happy.

Huck would love to be your only dog, so he can have all of your attention, gets along well with cats, and has lived with a rabbit. He has taken his job on the farm seriously, as he caught a kangaroo rat, and disposed of it in short order. He got praise from his foster mom, keeping the varmints off the property! Huck would do well with an older person as he is so gentle with a lower energy level.

Huck will require a secure fence in his new home.

Does Huck sound like the perfect addition to your family?  Complete an application for the opportunity to meet him.

Tail wags, and Woofs, from Huck, he is waiting to find his perfect home!

He is being fostered south of Wichita, KS
