Theodore is a handsome dark brown tabby with a few unique features that make him all the more charming—adorably tattered ears and extra toes (he’s polydactyl!) on his front feet. He came to HART with his brother Albert through no fault of his own and is now 11 years old.
When Theodore first arrived, he was understandably confused and sad about his new surroundings. Adjusting to shelter life and living with other cats was a big change, but over time he has relaxed and begun to reveal the sweet, affectionate personality that was always there. While he started off a bit more reserved than Albert, Theodore has blossomed and now delights in human attention, pets, and gentle scritches. He’s also a fan of catnip toys!
Theodore has a common condition in older cats—hyperthyroidism—which is easily managed with daily medication and routine monitoring. He also came to us with a sensitive stomach and had been experiencing severe diarrhea. We’ve since transitioned him to an over-the-counter duck-based diet, which has helped significantly. His future veterinarian may recommend a prescription diet to best support his digestive health. Because of his ongoing medical needs, Theodore’s adopter should have an established relationship with a vet.
You can find this sweet boy in Room 1, and he’d be thrilled to meet you! While Theodore and Albert don’t appear to be bonded, they do get along well and could make a lovely pair.
If you think Theodore could be your perfect companion, please complete an adoption application online. One of our team members will be in touch to arrange a visit. This gentle guy is ready to find a loving home to enjoy his golden years—you just might be the one to give it to him.
