My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chewy was found in the Logan section of Philadelphia on March 3rd. At that time, she was estimated to be 18 months old. She has been to the vet for a full round of care, including a spay, since.

At around 45 pounds, she is a goofy, energetic young pup who loves to play and receive love from humans. She gets along with cats and children and may need a dedicated adopter to take her through puppy training / socialization to discover or guide her response to other dogs.

Chewy is mostly housebroken and responds well to structure and positive feedback. She currently sleeps in a crate and cuddles all the available laps.

We appreciate you + we love our animals. Please be patient as this may take a few business days to check all personal + vet references.

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
