My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Bugsy and I am from Oklahoma!

From Foster:
LOVES playing with our other dogs. Big or small he is gentle and has fun with them! He may annoy older dogs - ours are like 8 and they definitely let him know when it's time to rest! But he could play with younger dogs all day!

We haven't had him leash free outside much yet... he isn't too curious past the next door neighbors and he tends to stick by our other dogs if we let them outside unleashed all together.
He walks great with a harness and leash and we walk him and another dog together frequently and he doesn't great.
We have taken him to the dog park and that might be his ultimate favorite place to be. Again, he's gentle and loves to play. I was more worried about other dogs being naughty than him.

No shared walls. This dude loves to howl like a coyote and sing when he's happy! He is also being trained for a crate and is doing fabulous! He does whine and bark once in a while during the day if crated... but only when you initially leave the house. We do have to turn the crate so the door is against a wall or he will Houdini out and bust the door open. Not because hes necessarily upset - but because he can! Haha.

He's a LOVER. Wants to be close to people or other dogs All. Of. The. Time. He will literally cry if you go to water your plants and leave him behind. He's learning though. And oddly he's fine at night when it's dark and everyone is quiet. We watch our indoor dog cameras at night like we're watching 6 month old children in their crib... got it all set it up on the bedside

Bugsy would be great for someone who loves to hike and explore and would love a companion to do things with! He's active!

As far as temperament goes... he listens to direction and knows when he's been naughty. He does need toys and chew bones - but he hasn't chewed furniture at all. He does like shoes, and if he doesn't have entertainment he will look for the closest thing to entertain himself with (aka, chewed his bed until a little hole appeared and then pulled out some stuffing... chewed my sons homework that was on the counter). We're working to have him not do this but we tend to keep everything up high. And we've kept dog toys in his reach.

Sleeps like a champ, love cuddles and will follow you around as much as you let him!

He's really really a wonderful dog. Everyone seems kinda skiddish the adopting a male dog - but he's gentle and loving. Doesn't aggressively bark or bite.

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
