My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frank is looking for a fresh start this year! And with his adoption fee now sponsored, we are hoping he will find his forever home soon!

Pros:
*Has been around cats before and done okay
*Has done well with other dogs
*Keeps his kennel fairly clean
*Is pretty good at not jumping up for attention
*Very friendly
*Wants to please
*Tolerates baths and brushing really well
*Enjoys stuffed toys that he can squeak or carry around and pull stuffing out of

Cons:
*Hasn't learned a lot of the basics of being a dog i.e. leash skills, basic commands
*Isn't yet house-trained
*Likes to speak his mind
*Needs time to decompress before being introduced to any smaller animals in the home

To be "Frank", you should come to meet Frank! Fill out an adoption application and if approved we will reach out within two days to set up a 60-minute meet-and-greet/adoption appointment. All dog adoptions include one free week of virtual training through the service GoodPUP.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Barron County is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter serving Barron County and surrounding areas.

Established in 1978 by a small but dedicated group of core volunteers, the HSBC started out with these volunteers taking animals into their own homes and advertising the need for forever homes for these animals. Over the years, since this humble beginning the HSBC has grown into the organization that it is today. From the homes of volunteers, relying on fundraising and the generous donations of our community, we have grown into and remain in our home on Guy Avenue in Barron.

HSBC is operated by a small staff and relies heavily on volunteers, as well as funds from donations, adoptions, memberships and fundraisers to keep our doors open for the animals needing our assistance.

We sincerely thank you for making this possible.
