My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey there, my name is Bert! My friends at the shelter don't exactly know how old I am, but they think I am under a year old. With my sleek coat adorned in classic tabby stripes, I move with a quiet grace, preferring the solace of cozy corners to the spotlight of attention. Yet, behind my shy facade lies a world of curiosity waiting to be explored. In the safety of my favorite spots, my inquisitive spirit shines through as I cautiously investigate my surroundings, always eager to uncover the mysteries that lie just beyond my reach. With patience and gentle encouragement, the staff here thinks I could blossom into a wonderful companion. If you think so as well, please call TCRAS at 719-686-7707 to schedule an appointment!

Additional adoption info

To adopt:
All adoptions must be done in person. Visit the shelter to meet the adoptable animals you would like to consider. TCRAS is open 6 days a week, please see hours of operation.

Your visit with each animal will be assisted by a trained adoption specialist to answer questions, address concerns and to help you decide if the animal is a good fit for your home environment (i.e. children, other pets, specific needs, etc). You can also bring in your current pets to do a visitation (this may be required with certain animals).

More about this shelter

In the year 2000, the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) was formed and continued under this leadership to the present day. Our shelter is a small, rural shelter. Every year, over 800 lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and cats get assistance from TCRAS. We do not euthanize for time or space.
