My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Lexi was brought in by her previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Lexi, the adorable Husky looking for a new home! She adores being pampered with petting and attention, but she's also sensitive about hugs and restraint, so she's searching for family members who can all respect her boundaries. Lexi thrives in the company of adults and older children, and she's also a perfect addition to an active household. This young and energetic kiddo delights in walks and playtime. Lexi is also potty trained, as long as she maintains a consistent routine. She does have mixed feelings about other dogs, so we think that she might do best as the sole furry friend in her new home. Are you ready to give Lexi the care and attention that she deserves? Come meet her at our Escondido Campus.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
