My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Vixen was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement Team on 4/1/2024.

At SDHS:
Vixen has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She has been treated by our medical team and is now ready for her new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Vixen is a fun dog who is still very young and has tons of puppy energy. She is currently living the good life in a foster home. Here are some things the foster said about her: "Incredibly loving pup. She loves petting and leans into your legs and hold still to get all of the pets possible. She will fully flop onto your for cuddles and then go back to zooming. She loves toys and treats. She is fine with our dog... she's happy to go with the flow". More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
