My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sully 💗
5 mos old Dachshund

Hello! I may be small but I’ll be the first to jump up and protect my brother or human against any loud or scary sounds. I enjoy my food but eat a little slower than my brother, treats are nice but not my priority, my priority is being able to see and be near my human. I do love to fetch and follow my human around. I may not jump into your lap right away but I when I do curl up, I’ll stay with you as long as you want. I’m still learning house rules but I know I’ll get it! I love to be held, loved, cuddled, and played with. I especially love rolling on my back for belly rubs. I think the world is exciting and I’d like to learn more, as long as I have a human who will be by my side.

I would do well being adopted with or without my brother. I’d like to go to a family with doxie experience please who will treat me as a family member. I’d love it if my family continued my training so I can be the best version of myself for everyone. My rescue also says they’d like my new family to get me pet insurance since I am a Doxy we are known for sometimes having back issues and hopefully I’d never need to use it but it would make my rescue feel better!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our animals are kept in foster care until we find them the best forever home. All prespective adopters fill out our interest form and have a home check as well as a meet and greet with the animal they are considering adopting. A small adoption fee is asked for depending on the animal and it's age etc. An adoption contract is signed by both parties and if there is any issue with the animal after adoption the adopter agrees to return the animal to us.

More about this rescue

Our dream at Vegas Pet Rescue Project is to positively impact the Las Vegas homeless, abused and abandoned pets that overwhelm our shelter system by giving them a new lease on LIFE. Our primary focus will be to assist the local animal shelters (Animal Foundation and Henderson Shelter) with the pets who have been given limited time to be adopted before they are removed from the shelter system due to a multitude of reasons. We will accomplish this goal through our extensive network of foster families, donations, and sponsors. We would also like to help finance spay and neuter programs to help low income families be responsible pet owners and decrease the overpopulation issues we face in Vegas. We also feel it important to collect pet supplies and food for local rescues and the city’s Good Samaritans who foster rescue pets and take in strays. Eventually we would love to help create a volunteer based program to investigate and bring down illegal breeding. We have been helping the pet rescue effort in the city for 3 years now and feel like we are just getting started.
