My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meshack is a one-year-old buff colored classic tabby. He is a friendly boy, who, though just out of kittenhood, still likes to play. He will let you know that he also approves of petting by rubbing against your legs. He will sit with you or beside you and express his gratitude for your petting with his purrs. Meshack came from Kentucky with his brother Shadrack, and will be a great companion for some lucky person or family. Make an appointment to meet him and see for yourself what a special, loving guy he is.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. You can also contact us directly regarding a pet seen here and we will set up a time for you to meet them in person. Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
