Where’s my lab lovers?? Keys is here to steal your heart!
Sweet boy Keys is a black lab mix estimated to be about 6 years old. He came in as a stray, but the marks on his body suggest a cruel past. Despite this, Keys is gentle, sweet, and friendly. He calmly greets new friends with warm nuzzles and a wagging tail.
Keys did beautifully at this weekend’s pack walk. He walked nicely on a leash, sniffed all the smells, and made lots of new friends. He takes treats softly and was calm in the car. He is not jumpy, mouthy, or a puller. He was interested and composed around other dogs but will need to be formally dog tested. Like a true lab, Keys is lovable and loyal and will make a great family pet.
And don’t let that salt-and-pepper snoot fool you! Keys is very spry and in shape. He did the whole 5K pack walk at Parvins at a speedy pace and wanted to keep going!
Keys has been kind and curious as he discovers a new world of leash walks, car rides, tasty treats, and loving pets. He brought some new volunteers to tears today at how tender and forgiving he is in spite of a traumatic past. Will you be the one to shower him with all the love and cuddles he deserves?
If you’re interested in adopting keys, fill out an application with his name on it, email adoptions@sjras.org, and/or come right into the shelter to take him home! For more information about this animal or our adoption process please visit our website at SouthJerseyRegionalAnimalShelter.org

CARING FOR SOUTH JERSEY PETS SINCE 1947
Founded in 1891 and incorporated in June 1947, we are a non-profit organization and a chapter of the NJ State SPCA. The staff and board of trustees are deeply involved and committed to all aspects of animal care and welfare. The money to finance the shelter comes from fees charged to municipalities to house their stray animals, fees charged to adopt, reclaim or release an animal to us, dues, donations, grants, fund-raisers and bequests from caring individuals. In our function as a humane society, the shelter serves as a refuge for thousands of stray, unwanted, abused, abandoned and sick animals
