Cat’s Name: Cali
Cat’s Age & Sex: female 1 year 9 months (though seems younger)
Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): spayed and microchipped mid Feb. 2024 with all shots and vaccines
Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): Cali is a beautiful Calico. She showed up at our door, so adopted us. No one claimed her. Must have been on her own at a very young age. (Learning how to be a cat and relax from our resident old cat). We took her in as I’m a huge animal lover but doesn’t do well with dogs and reason we must find her a another home: She HATES DOGS. So she needs to go to a home with absolutely NO DOGS.
Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Cali does well with most people. She follows me around the house mewing. Very vocal She’s a suckler on particular blankets and wants you to be with her. It’s so cute!! She does well with cats. A bit bossy as she’s young and wants to play. (Our 13 year old is a bit out of his element)
Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): she comes with a large metal litter box, a small cat tower, some toys, Cans of food
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Fancy Feast wet food. Iams dry. Please limit the dry food so she eats all her wet food (more below).
:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).

*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.
