"Dogs want and need what we do: friends, sunshine play and love." Eloise is ready for all these things!
Our lovely Eloise is one year old and weighs 60 pounds. Her shiny black coat has snow white markings, and we love her expressive gray eyes, which are truly windows to a beautiful soul. She is such a sweet, gentle, affectionate dog.
Eloise was shy when she first came to us at the shelter. Due to the stellar efforts of our staff and volunteers, she is making wonderful progress. We love sitting quietly with Eloise to pet and encourage her and help her feel more secure.
She enjoys daily walks, especially if there is another dog around.
Eloise truly looks forward to outings in the fenced yard, where she loves being in play groups with her fellow canine companions. She bounds about happily and has such a great time! Eloise is a dog's dog! She might be hard to coax out the door, but once she is in the play yard, it's game on! Eloise immediately wags her tail and play bows with all the dogs and gets along great with both the ladies and the gents. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.
Eloise wants to please and should do very well with training.
She will need patience and time to adjust in her new home. We believe Eloise will blossom and be such a loving and devoted family dog. She would really enjoy a canine sibling, too.

Please come visit! We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

More about this shelter
Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!
All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
