My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Slade is a handsome 2-1/2 year old male kitty who was surrendered to the HSOV on April 4, 2024 for a heartbreaking reason. Slade's owner had passed away recently, and there was suddenly nowhere for him to call home.

Slade has a black/brown short smooth coat in a marbled tabby pattern, a long ringed tail, and a beautiful face with large golden eyes, a faint dusting of white on his muzzle, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers.

This sweet boy has a quiet, rather demure, personality, and he is surely missing the comfort/security of the loving home which he had enjoyed. Our compassionate kennel techs are giving Slade extra TLC so that he knows there are kind people who still love him.

Slade is good with children and also with other animals (not sure if that includes dogs as well as cats). Slade has been kept indoors and is litterbox-trained.

Slade was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on April 6, 2024. He weighed 9 lbs that day.

Slade will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on April 16th) and will be available for adoption or rescue. Slade would love to find another home with someone special to snuggle up with again.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

UPDATE: Slade was neutered on April 16, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 10.2 lbs that day.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit shelter giving refuge to homeless and abandoned animals in Washington County Ohio. We strive to make their time here as comfortable as possible. We work very hard with our rescue groups to move our animals quickly and safely. We do this because we work for those who have no voice.

Rescue groups are encouraged to contact our Canine Rescue Coordinator (rescue@hsov.org) or Feline Rescue Coordinator (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net)
