My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The stars have aligned and the universe is telling you to adopt these sweet girls! Meet Luna and Skye! This bonded pair are six years old, very affectionate, and love to have fun! Luna has short hair, loves being on your lap and will sometimes curl up in your neck as if she’s giving you a little hug! Skye has long hair, the sweetest meow, and will carry around her toy mouse in her mouth to show off her “prey”! Both cats love their playtime and have quite impressive moves they’d love to show off to you! These beautiful, kind girls would love a home together with no other pets so they can soak up all the attention! To learn more about lovely Luna and stunning Skye, please contact Our Companions at 860-242-9999 or email Helpline@OurCompanions.org!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To begin the adoption process, you can fill out an application for adoption by clicking on the "adoption" tab on our website, www.ourcompanions.org.

The OC Adoption Program aims to find a pet who will be the best match for each adopter. To accomplish this we know each animal’s personality and needs and we get to know our adopters and their lifestyles.

OC provides our adopters with support from the start of the journey and throughout the animal’s entire life; including pre-adoption counseling, assistance while the animal is settling in and life-long support. Our goal is to find loving homes for our animals and to facilitate individualized adoptions that meet both the adopter’s and animal’s needs.
All adoption applicants are assigned a dedicated Adoption Caseworker to work with you throughout the adoption process. During this process you will be asked to complete an Adoption Application, and you can access them on our website, www.ourcompanions.org.

How much does it cost to adopt and what’s included?
We do not have an adoption fee, but we greatly appreciate a tax-deductible donation to Our Companions at the time of adoption.
Cats: $75 or $125/pair
Kittens: $125 or $200/pair
Dogs/Puppies: $150

All pets are vaccinated, neutered and treated for internal and external parasites. Dogs are tested for Lyme and Heartworm and cats are tested for FeLV and FIV. All dogs come with a discounted 8-week basic obedience course.

More about this rescue

Founded in 2002, Our Companions Animal Rescue is a Connecticut-based nonprofit organization that goes to extraordinary lengths to help animals in need today, while working to prevent animals from becoming homeless tomorrow.

We offer a variety of Adoption Services to meet the needs of homeless pets in Connecticut. We know that a proper home exists for most animals- it just takes patience, resources and a commitment to find it. Our Companions offers virtual adoption programs so pets can stay in their original homes while we search for a new family, as well as adoption at the Ashford Sanctuary and regular pet meet-and-greet days at the Valerie Friedman Program Center centrally located in Manchester, CT. Adoption meetings are scheduled by appointment after the application screening process is completed.

In addition to adoption services, we are also involved in political advocacy; broad spay/neuter efforts such as TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return); humane education; and positive reinforcement dog training. It’s a long-term, comprehensive approach to ending pet homelessness and suffering.
