My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daisy is our very special, gentle girl. She came to us as a stray from a rural shelter and we are so grateful to have her with us. Daisy has experienced unknown trauma in her life and is a very, very timid - but friendly - girl. We are looking for that amazing family that will welcome her home with patience, understanding, and love.
We don't know why, but she is fearful of being outside. She will go out to do her business, but then wants right back in. Until she masters the outside, vet visits and walking are still a bit challenging so having at least two members in the family who can collectively lift her would be great.
Daisy is good with other dogs and would likely benefit from having a canine companion. As fearful as she is, she is kind as can be. She's been known to give kids kisses on the cheek. Since coming to us, she's made incredible progress and we know that the time has come to where she can be adopted. She will do best in a quiet, dog-savvy home where she can continue to make progress on "Daisy-time".
With time, Daisy is that dog who will be the most amazing, loyal companion and we cannot wait to see her off to her forever and ever home.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To adopt a dog from Tails of Gray, you must:

1. Complete an online application for adoption.
2. Meet your prospective pet. If your application to adopt is approved, our adoption coordinators will schedule a meet and greet with you and the senior dog you are applying to adopt.
3. Complete a home visit. If you (and your family) and the dog are a good match for each other, a home visit is then scheduled and completed.
4. Finalize the adoption. After a home visit is complete, the adoption can be finalized and a new happy tail can be told!

The adoption fee is $200

More about this rescue

Tails of Gray is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization that offers a safe and loving sanctuary for senior dogs regardless of breed, health or ease of placement. Our goal is to prevent needless euthanasia through the offering of shelter, adoption, foster, hospice and education.
All Tails of Gray senior dogs are spayed and neutered, microchipped and receive appropriate veterinary care and treatment.
Tails of Gray welcomes the unwanted and heals the sick. Those precious senior dogs who cannot be healed will spend their final days in a comfortable environment where they experience unconditional love, some for the first time.
