My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Melanie, and I've had quite the journey in my young life. I'm a spirited pitty mix, just about a year old, with a heart as big as my playful spirit. Despite a rough start, I'm resilient and hopeful for the future.

My tale began abruptly on April 11, 2024, when my previous owner callously abandoned me, tossing me out of a moving vehicle near the animal shelter without a second thought. It was a terrifying moment, but fate intervened when vigilant animal control officers spotted the heartless act and swiftly rescued me before any harm could befall me. It's a day I'll never forget, but I'm grateful for the second chance it afforded me.

Despite the uncertainty of my past, I've been well cared for since arriving at the shelter. I've received all my vaccinations, and thankfully, I've tested negative for heartworm. Currently tipping the scales at a sturdy 42 pounds, I'm healthy and eager to embrace life's adventures.

At the shelter, I've discovered a love for rope toys and engaging in spirited games of tug of war with my fellow four-legged companions who share my temporary abode. It's in these moments of play and camaraderie that I find solace and joy, but deep down, I long for something more-a forever home filled with love and companionship.

So, if you're reading this and feeling a tug at your heartstrings, could you be the one to give me the love and stability I crave? I promise unwavering loyalty, endless affection, and a lifetime of tail wags and wet nose kisses in return. Let's make memories together-I'll be waiting with hopeful eyes and a wagging tail, ready to embark on this journey of love and belonging, together.
