My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey Y'all,
My name is Buddy because I like to be with my people just like a little Buddy.
I was found dumped on a dirt country road. My foster family was going to pick up bales of hay for their horses. Midway to the farm, they spotted me standing in the middle of the road. I was unsure what to do. My foster mom said I looked too good to have been out there too long.
I am house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. I love to go for car rides. I like dogs, cats, chickens, and horses. But the one thing I like most is being with you.
Wouldn't you like a buddy to go hiking, camping, to the beach, or read a book together sitting on the porch? Please fill out an application today to start my journey home.

We are very careful with our adoptions for these orphans are in our homes. They are family to us. If it does not feel right, there is probably a reason. The adoption is cancelled.

Go meet their pets

The ladies with FOHA, RI (Sandra Lamb) have invited our orphans to participate in adoption events.

More about this rescue

My name is Carla Carlton. We (my husband and I) are retired militay. He served in the Air Force for 25 years. We have always done some sort of servicing the community. So, when we got ready to retire, we found a place we wanted to live and bought a home. Well, the town we lived in has/had a high kill shelter. This broke our hearts.
Around this same time, I met a lady who fostered for Friends of Homeless Animals, RI. One day I got a call from FOHA there was a poodle in our shelter and he was on the short list. I went and pulled him. Roie (FOHA), helped set me up to foster and list our orphans from here as a courtesy post. I am not sure how long ago it was, 16-18 years, I think. The rest is history. Through them and Mountain Pet Rescue, CO (and a few others in CO, UT, IA, IL, OR, CA, MS...), we have placed over 2400 dogs/ puppies and cats.
