My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💙 STILL AVAILABLE — 1.5 YEARS LATER!

Lip: 75 Pounds of Love, Laughter, and Endless Energy

📍 Location: Lexington, SC
🐾 Name: Lip
🎂 Age: ~1.5 years old (DOB: 9/24/23)
🐶 Breed: Bully Mix
⚖️ Size: ~75 lbs of pure wiggles and zoomies
🚹 Sex: Male
✂️ Spayed/Neutered/Shots: Neutered, microchipped, and up to date on Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella
🧪 Health: Heartworm negative and current on both heartworm & flea prevention

🐾 Good with dogs, cats, and/or kids:

✅ Dogs: Excellent with dogs of all sizes

🐱 Cats: Likely fine, but his energy makes it hard to safely test — may chase if overstimulated

👧 Kids: Friendly but may be too much for small children due to his excitement level

🚫 Aggression or medical issues?: None — just the happiest, most excitable boy you’ll ever meet

🛟 Reason for rehoming?: Rescue intake — still searching for his forever home after 1.5 years

🏡 House/crate trained?:

✅ House trained

🏠 Familiar with kennel setups but not formally crate trained

Additional info/story (personality):
Lip is the definition of a lovable goofball — all heart, all energy, all the time. He’s a social butterfly who adores people and dogs alike, and he truly wants to be your best friend. His biggest challenge? He just doesn’t know how big or bouncy he is!

He needs more than daily walks — a fenced yard, frequent dog park visits, or an active owner will be key to keeping this boy happy and healthy. Because he burns energy so fast, he also does best on a high-calorie, high-protein food; otherwise, he’ll start to look too lean even with regular meals.

💬 Note on temperament:
Lip is extremely shy around men at first due to past mistreatment before rescue. He won’t willingly approach new men right away — it usually takes a couple of hours of calm interaction before he feels safe enough to engage. Once that trust is earned, though, he bonds deeply and loves just as fiercely as he plays.

Lip knows how to be good — he just has ants in his pants and finds “calm” to be the hardest command. He’ll reward your patience with loyalty, laughter, and love every single day.

Go meet their pets

We are foster based only at this time.
Meet and greets for dogs must be scheduled in advance.
Meet and greets for cats are near impossible normally because we all foster/house both cats and dogs and the dogs "go off" when visitors come over making all the cats hide.

More about this rescue

In service of domestic animals in South Carolina, Frisky Business Rescue is a no-kill rescue that provides vital resources such as veterinary care, birthing assistance, medication, and rehoming or safe release (TNR) to the most vulnerable animals in the region. We specialize in animals with special circumstances that come from various backgrounds, including animal hoarding and abusive situations but primarily focus on vulnerable kittens, puppies, and pregnant/nursing dogs and cats. Before rehoming, we carefully screen new potential families to ensure the needs of our animals are met and that new homes will become furever homes.
