Solid black, short hair, neutered male, declawed, born approx. 9/30/08, #18695
Other cats: comfortable Dogs: unknown Children: tweens+ / adults
When Ivan's person suffered a rapid onset of dementia deterioration and needed to move into a memory care facility, her neighbor looked for rescue help for the three senior cats left behind, as the lady's family planned to euthanize them. We took in all three. Ivan has diabetes and needs a simple injection twice a day for routine management; he lets you do this like a champ and is stable and doing great!
Ivan is the black panther you've always wanted and is the sweetest cat his foster has ever known. "My favorite thing is when I sit on my bed he will get up and sit right next to me there - he always does this!" Ivan definitely likes your company, and appreciates extended petting sessions (he'll give you head bonks in return). Ivan will follow you around the house and even join you in the bathroom, patiently waiting while you take a shower. He'll sleep with you at night. He even ducks under the covers for about 15 minutes until he's ready to be topside again, where he enjoys getting into his kitty bed that's on top of your bed (of course). Though Ivan is a senior kitty, he still has plenty of spunk and runs around more than most older cats. He enjoys playing with his toys and has no trouble jumping wherever he wants to go. It won't take long to fall head-over-heels in love with Ivan, and he will love you back in a big way!
Ivan gets along with other cats. We don't know his thoughts on dogs. Younger kids are a bit much for him; older kids in their tweens and up or adults are more his speed. He would do well with a person that works all day then comes home for quality evening time spent together.
This happy-natured boy is looking for someone who will maintain his simple medical routine and shower him in love for his twilight years. Will he be your new best friend?
