My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gareth is a big, gorgeous, independent 6 year old lady, with tons of personality. She is a Siberian mix, and so is relatively low-shedding and hypoallergenic. She may take a long time to warm up to you, being hissy and growly when first meeting people, but when she does she can be a real lover. Very food-motivated, and loves to sit at the window watching birds, chase little spring toys, and sleep. Gareth suffers from Irritable Bowel Disease, so requires a special hydrolyzed diet and daily medication, typically administered in her wet food. With these inexpensive and easy treatments, her symptoms are well managed. She's a beautiful feline with a spunky attitude and will do well in a space where she can lounge, admire and be admired, and be her lovely, lazy, sassy self with no other cats to contend with. She's had a good experience living with a dog, and tends to prefer male humans to female humans. I am sad to have to rehome her, but I recently moved in with my partner and her beloved cat and we've tried hard to make it work but Gareth and the other cat simply don't get along. I'd prefer to rehome her with someone in the Portland area.  $50 rehoming fee.  Indoor only with catio available from owner.

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
