My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SINATRA is a handsome, well-behaved adult black & white Tuxedo cat (approx. 10+ years old), a stray who had been living outdoors, fed by a good samaritan.  He's so very friendly, easy-going and very talkative (he chirps & chortles & trills & sings to you - has a large assortment of varied kitty noises!) and is so happy when you pet him that he can't help but make biscuits on the floor, in the air, on you; whatever! He also likes to be brushed!  (We think that he's actually a dog in a kitty suit!)

He had been living outside and was in pretty rough, beat-up condition; found to have BB pellets under his skin - he'd been shot with a BB gun!!  He also had old scars & an abscess on his head (healed), a broken & infected tooth (taken care of), a scarred eye (eye-drops help with that) and a painful hip (no longer being painful) plus he's FIV+.  So Purrfect Friends has taken him in to get him the medical help he needs & to help find him a wonderful new home.

His left eye was diagnosed with Glaucoma, and daily eye drops were able to control the pain & progression for awhile; but he recently had to have it removed.

He developed severe mouth pain; diagnosed with Stomatitis and all teeth were removed; he's completely recovered and pain-free from that.

** Sinatra's blood test indicates that he has FIV ( Feline immunodeficiency virus ) , which causes a weakening of the cat's immune system.  Don't let it scare you away - it's not contagious to other cats except thru deep fighting, biting wounds, so neutered pet cats can live together very comfortably & safely.  Sinatra is currently housed alongside other FIV negative kitties in his foster home.  Many, probably most FIV+ cats live long healthy lives; others may get sick occasionally & need vet care more quickly because of it. More about this rescue

Purrfect Friends Cat Rescue is an all-volunteer, non-profit group working to end the plight and suffering of unwanted cats and kittens in the greater Cincinnati area. We do this by educating the general public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to lessen the drastic over-population of cats; we provide foster homes to cats and kittens waiting for adoption, and provide information and guidance to people working to help the feral cat population through TNR (trap, neuter and release) efforts.

Meet the cats every Saturday at our adoption events (details listed below), and you can see the cats on Petfinders and 1800save-a-pet in the hopes of finding good homes for them.
