Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there, I'm Emily! I'm a bundle of joy and energy, always ready for a game of fetch or a run in the park. My sister Emma and I love to play and explore together. We're quite the dynamic duo! I'm a sweet, friendly gal who loves to meet new people and make friends. I can be a bit of a goofball sometimes, but that's just part of my charm. I promise to bring lots of love, laughter, and happiness into your life. So why should you adopt me? Well, I'm young, full of life, and I have so much love to give. I can't wait to find my forever home where I can share all my love and playful energy with my new family!

More about this shelter
The South Suburban Humane Society is a 501(c )(3) organization that was started in 1970, serving the animal welfare needs of the entire south suburbs of Chicago. In the beginning, we handled all rescues, adoptions and provided foster care out of private homes. Since November 1973, our organization has been operating a 10,000 square foot open-door animal shelter in Chicago Heights, Illinois.
For over fifty years, our organization has helped tens of thousands of animals. We offer extensive outreach programs including humane education, and community outreach events. We also operate a resale shop located in Steger, Illinois that promotes our organization, our animals and provide much needed income to support our humane work.
The Mission of the South Suburban Humane Society is to protect and promote the well being of pets and their people in our community and beyond.
