Meet Fiona! Fiona was adopted out from us when she was a little kitten. Fast forward 6 years … Unfortunately she has found herself in a difficult situation due to no fault of her own. She is now back with us.
Fiona is beautiful and sweet and enjoys the company of people. We would like to get her into a home with adults only and a quiet setting. Fiona seems to be ok with small calm dogs. Friendly cats could possibly work but we would then recommend a foster to adopt situation to make sure the environment would be okay for Fiona, so she can continue to thrive.

The first step in our process is to fill out our online application at our website, www.care4strays.org. Once received, it will be reviewed by one of our trained volunteers. If approved, we'll be in touch to arrange a "meet and greet" with the animal. All of our cats/dogs are in private foster homes.

More about this rescue

Since our founding in 1995 by Lynn Cancro, Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.), Inc. has worked to find “forever homes” for abandoned, unwanted, neglected, or abused companion animals.

All the animals in our care are in foster homes, which helps socialize the cat or dog and allows us to identify the best type of home for each animal to ensure a successful adoption. We also work to reduce the overpopulation of feral cats with our Trap-Neuter-Release program. In addition, our team also strives to educate the public about the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to decrease the number of unwanted pets.

C.A.T.S. is not a shelter in the traditional sense; we rely on private foster homes to house the many unwanted animals in our care.

Our Resale Shop (80 Kinderkamack Road in Westwood, NJ) helps fund our efforts. Please consider donating to our Resale Shop. Donations of brand-new and gently-used items are needed year-round and can be donated during shop hours Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 5:00.
