My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Boba!
She's a precious 9mo old girl that is as "turnkey" as they come. A fabulous 40 lb size that is easy for "loading and going" around town and on trips.
Her previous home adored her, and they still cry when checking in on her (especially her BFF and sleeping buddy the 10 year old son in the home).
Boba lost her family- not because she was in the wrong at all- but because the family had to make a tough decision on which dog to keep. They chose their under 10 pound senior dog.

You see, the tiny senior dog had changed personality when Boba entered the home. She became depressed and angry. Bossing Boba, and eventually attacking her over food and everything. The family tried for over 6mo, but the tiny senior was simply unhappy and very stressed. Boba tried to be the best friend ever... but in the end the family had to make a decision. They had to keep their loyalty to their original pet.

With that being said, Boba is now in a foster with little dogs and big dogs. She's obviously doing fabulous! After 1 day, she wiggled her way into the foster mom's bed at night. She has earned her couch privileges, and earned the respect of all the tiny dogs in the home. She is house-trained, and knows her basic commands. She looks like a smaller lab, but her parents were: Mom/ Goldendoodle, Dad/ Lab+beagle.
The hard part of raising and training is done... now she needs forever love, comfort, and stability.

Boba is with our partner Keri in Louisiana.
She is in a private foster home, completely vetted, and does well with everyone. ♥ If you live on Long Island or the nearby vicinity and might be interested in Boba, please apply at NYSRR.COM.

More about this rescue

New York State Retriever Rescue, Inc (NYSRR) is a not for profit 501c(3) organization comprised of a network of volunteers. These devoted individuals are dedicated to locating homes for retrievers in need that represent the kind nature and spirit commonly associated with Labrador and Golden Retrievers: affability, gentleness and a peaceful, loving temperament. The organization also offers services to those who are unable to care for their dog. Our mission is to provide veterinary care for any and all dogs prior to being placed in loving homes.
